საგანმანათლებლო პროგრამა შედგება ორი ნაწილისაგან (60+60 (ECTS):
პირველი ნაწილი: 60 კრედიტი (ECTS), მათ შორის:
სავალდებულო სასწავლო კურსები - 25 კრედიტი (ECTS);
არჩევითი სასწავლო კურსები - 30 კრედიტი (ECTS);
თავისუფალი კრედიტები - 5 კრედიტი (ECTS).
სწავლის ხანგრძლივობა: არანაკლებ ორი სემესტრისა.
მეორე ნაწილი: 60 კრედიტი (ECTS), მათ შორის:
სავალდებულო სასწავლო კურსები - 10 კრედიტი (ECTS).;
არჩევითი სასწავლო კურსები - 10 კრედიტი (ECTS).;
თავისუფალი კრედიტები - 10 კრედიტი (ECTS).;
სამაგისტრო ნაშრომი - 30 კრედიტი (ECTS).

Part I:
- Contribute in raising awareness up in media influences, information and digital literacy (MIDL);
- To have positive impact on the development of media standards, media environment and media psychology field;
Part II:
- Conduct multidisciplinary research projects in media psychology and communications: research the interaction between media (social media included) and individuals/groups/society, as well as the influence of modern technologies on human behavior and investigate psychological media effects;
- With research-backed recommendations, have positive impact on the development of media standards, media environment and media psychology field;
- To contribute with freshly gained knowledge in academia and exchange this knowledge with academic and non-academic audience as well;
Admission to the first part of the master’s educational program (60 credits) is open to a person holding a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent academic degree, who is enrolled on the basis of the results of the Unified Master’s Examination and an examination in the specialty, namely:
Part I:
BA degree/equal to it from authorized higher education institution.
- A minimum criterion for admission is B2 level English proficiency (FCE - evaluation A or B; IELTS - points 5.0 - 6.5; TOEIC – points 400 - 485 (listening) and 385 - 450 (reading); TOEFL (IBT) - points 87-109; PTE (General) - level 3; PTE (Academic) - points 59; (40 % of the evaluation);
- Writing examination (Essay, In English); (40 % of the evaluation);
- Interview with the program committee; (20 % of the evaluation).
Part II:
- A person holding a master’s degree, or a person who has completed the first part of the program, is eligible to enroll in the second part (60 credits) of the master’s degree program. Additional conditions for admission to this part are determined by the regulations of the relevant main educational unit of the higher education institution, in accordance with the requirements of Georgian legislation.
Part I:
- Knowledge and understanding: 1.1. Describes and formulates systematically and comprehensively the process of interaction in media (including social media), the psychological effects of media, and the influence of new technologies on human behavior;1.2 Determines the psychological prerequisites and consequences of audience functioning;
- Skills: 2.1 Identifies key concepts, theories, and based on analysis, applies the theories to real-life situations in the areas of media psychology and communication; 2.2 Contributes to evaluating and developing the media environment and standards.
- Autonomy and responsibility: Follows/defends the norms of academic ethics and demonstrates academic integrity in the course of his professional activities; Defends human rights and respects for diversity and the values of others (beliefs, practices, languages, behaviors) and is prepared to act as a global citizen (which is now a benchmark of personal growth and career readiness).
Part II:
- Knowledge and understanding: Defines and describes research methods and procedures in media psychology and communications;
- Skills: 2.1 Critically evaluates and synthesizes empirical studies on media use and its effects; 2.2 Uses research methods and procedures in the field of media psychology and communications, drawing on broad knowledge obtained in media psychology; 2.3 Based on problem identification, provides research-based recommendations (consultations), involving critical analysis of moral and ethical dilemmas in the media and the field of media psychology;
- Autonomy and responsibility: Develops life-long learning skills in order to pursue further education and plan an academic career, improve, and distribute knowledge within academic and non-academic society;
Part I:
According to international experience, media psychologist work in broadcasting companies, marketing and advertising firms, digital marketing sphere, colleges and universities, governmental and non-governmental and private research facilities; they do Independent and corporate consulting, contribute in Public advocacy and policy-making.
Areas of employment and positions include but not limit to:
- Analytical and counselling companies (analyst and consultant positions);
- Non-governmental organizations focused on media and communication (analyst and consultant positions);
- PR, marketing organizations and advertising agencies (analyst and consultant positions);
- Media organization: TV, Radio, online media (advertising and media firm consultants, consultants in newsrooms)
- Governmental agencies and political parties (analyst and consultant positions);
There are major areas in which media psychology is fundamental:
- Writing about media or performing as expert guests on various media
- Consulting media personnel
- Analyzing ways to improve all forms of media
- Developing media standards
- Analyzing the sociological, behavioral and psychological effects of media, etc.
According to different sources, media psychologists are making contributions in many fields, such as:
- Development of social media strategy for organizations and brands;
- Developing online platforms for social entrepreneurship and NGOs;
- Community creation and audience engagement;
- Entertainment properties that expand across media;
- Translation of psychological research for journalists and the public.
TSU has memorandums of understandings with potential employers. The launching of the program will contribute in popularization of this filed in Georgia.
Part II:

- Researching ways to improve all forms of media

Examples where research will be valuable as well include:
- The formation, maintenance or change of individual and group stereotypes;
- On-camera and off-camera diversity and its effects on audiences, media stories and media perspectives;
- Researching advertising messages, etc.

- Developing online platforms for social entrepreneurship and NGOs;
- Community creation and audience engagement;
